S.l.a.m Camp 2021 (science, literacy AND math)

For Rising 1st Graders - Rising 4th Graders

We are offering an 8 week summer camp, and we would love to have your child(ren) spend time with us this summer! The registration fee is $50 per camper (non-refundable) which takes care of some of the basic supplies your child will need. Full-day camp (7:30 am - 5:45 pm or pick up anytime after 2:00 pm) is $160 per week and half-day camp (7:30 am - 12:30 pm) is $145 per week. There will be some additional fees each week for field trips. We’d love to have your child(ren) explore with us for 1 week, multiple weeks, or all summer! YOU PAY ONLY FOR THE WEEK(S) YOUR CHILD(REN) ATTEND. There is a 10% discount for each additional sibling. Campers must bring a lunch each day, and we will provide an afternoon snack. The children can arrive as early as 7:30, but camp activities begin at 8:30 am, and campers are asked to arrive on time. Each camper will need a camp t-shirt which is $12. June 7th-11th: MAD SCIENTISTS

We are all mad here! We kick off the first week of camp by diving into the world of mad science. Campers will have fun learning with lots of hands-on science experiments. Glowing magic milk, electric dough, invisible ink, DIY slime, and sharpie solubility.

June 14th-18th: STEAMsational

All hands on deck! Campers will enjoy a week of hands-on activities as they use their creativity! They will explore a wide range of imaginative activities and put their inventiveness into action! Oobleck, coding a Lego maze, wind power/bridge building, stained glass shapes, and homemade icecream.

June 21st-25th: BUGGIN’ OUT

This week is all about interesting insects! We will discover the life cycle of various insects such as butterflies, bees, ladybugs, worms, and more! A trip to Paris Mountain to hunt for some insects and creek critters will be a highlight during this week!

June 28th-July 2nd: Closed this week in observance of July 4th

July 5th-9th: UNDER THE SEA

Campers will explore sea life and dive into marine science. We will engage in a live streaming of sea creatures at the Georgia Aquarium. Sea creatures, ocean habitats, plants, icy ocean sensory, and layers of the ocean.

 July 12th-July 16th: SPACE RANGERS

Explore, read, play, invent, build, and learn! This week is all about stars, our solar system, and space exploration. Stars and constellations, the moon and Apollo 11, and the red planet.

  

July 19th-July 23rd: AROUND THE WORLD

We will explore the world in just 5 days! Campers will visit new countries while trying new foods and living like a local. We will learn about the geography and landforms of the countries and fill our passports with stamps. We’ll visit China, Spain, France, Ireland, Italy, and Nicaragua.

July 26th-30th: KID ARTISTS

Kandinsky, Van Gogh, Picasso, Polluck, and Seurat! This week, campers will read several books about famous artists. Each day, they will learn about a different artist and the various styles of art and channel their inner artist to create a masterpiece.

August 2nd-6th: WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE! (the last week of camp)

Throughout the week, campers will read the story, “Where The Wild Things Are.” We will watch a live stream of animals in the San Diego Zoo. Campers will experience wild adventures learning about wildlife through science, math, and play while meeting some wild creatures! Animal habitats, rainforests, grasslands, temperate forests, and deserts.

Space is limited, so please register as soon as possible if you haven't already. The registration and t-shirt fees are due by the end of May 21st.
